Sussex Place is a residential building in Regents Park, London. Completed in 1823, it was originally designed as 26 terraced houses, but now houses the London Business School. During the 19th century, Regents Park was one of the first public parks in the world, but was also home to high end, luxury living. In Romance of a Shop, Sussex Place is briefly mentioned twice and is described as grandiose and celebratory because of the luncheons that Lord Watergate is said to hold. Also in the books the narrator mentions that Gertude traveled to Sussex, and her description of the massive houses is, "She had no difficulty in finding Sussex Place; indeed, she had often remarked it; the white curve of houses with the columns, the cupolas, and the railed-in space of garden which fronted the Park" (chapter 14).
