This image depicts the pottery made during Rome rule in London. The pottery displays Rome's influence on art and style during that time period in London. When Rome controlled London it set up many different trade routes, the most important being those through the sea and rivers. Because of these trade routes, London was introduced to many different resources they had not used before. The red pottery is a result of trade taking place. Before Rome opened new trade routes for London, they did not have red pottery. Most of the pottery had been brown. Rome had a trade agreement with the Samos islands that allowed for London to get the red look on their pottery. Red pottery was being used every day in homes, dining, and other activities during Roman rule.
