Baker Street was a residential area for primarily upper middle class people, and was known for having many businesses, including a wax museum. In Romance of a Shop, the girls' studio and residence were located on Upper Baker Street in unit 20B. 

Quote from Romance of a Shop: 

- “By the end of June the premises in Upper Baker Street were quite ready for occupation” (Chapter IV)
