The place The Artic, near the north pole is is significant to Frankenstein because Victor is found there while chasing the creature, showing how far his obsession has taken him. I found this information from "Frankenstein (1931 film)" on Wikipedia. This source is an example of platform as gatekeeper because a major refence website decides what information about the story is highlighted and easy to find.
