In Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Ireland is mentioned in Volume 3. After Frankenstein destroys the unfinished second Creature, he ends up landing in Ireland. Ireland is used as a dark point in the novel. Ireland is where Henry is murdered and where Victor Frankenstein is accused and imprisoned for the murder.

Ireland is an island in the northwestern part of Europe, west of Great Britain. Ireland is a rural area. There is not a lot of importance of Ireland during the time Mary Shelley wrote this novel. and not a lot of political influence in the novel regarding Ireland, other than Frankenstein being arrested for Henry's murder.

I feel like my research on Ireland has helped me understand the novel better only in the fact of that maybe Frankenstein might have felt vulnerable and alone when he was falsely accused of Henry's murder. I did not really understand the novel more or less in learning about Ireland.
