On August 16, 1819, 60,000 non-violent protestors came together at St. Peter's Field in Manchester to demand freedom from oppression, the right to vote, and to support the Parliamentary Reform. The French Revolution began in 1789 and lasted for six years, so from 1789 to 1794, the people of France were fighting for liberty, equality, and fraternity due to the feeling of betrayal and being upset about the current conditions they were living in from the result of being broke from the previous year of 1788 where the population grew causing them to run out of food from the terrible winter. Percy Shelley wrote the poem "England in 1819" to express how England was on the verge of "mental explosion". Shelley used imagery throughout his poem to give other readers an idea of how destructive England was becoming as a country. Shelley also excercised romanticism as he expressed his anger towards current politics and how the citizens of England were so wrongly done. The level of expression also helped many others to see the whole injustice system.

"The Bank Nun" during the Victorian Era also represented injustice. Miss. Whitehead, the Bank Nun, visited the Bank of England to protest her brother execution for financial forgery. Financial forgery was a huge fear of British in 1812 due to the new paper currency which was declared most susceptible to forgery which was known as "bullion controversy". Parliament passed over 30 forgery statutes which included, of course, the death penalty. The Cruelty to Animals Act was introduced in 1976 of August. This act set limits on the practice of animals, allowing the animals to be experimented legally. Galavanism was discovered by experimenting animals through the use of electricity which gave the spark of "life". The use of the animals were unfair but some authors like Mary Shelley used galvanism to create realism in one of her stories. After the use of Galvanism, the act had arisen to be certain that animals were experimented on fairly.
