Potential Location of the Green Chapel

Lud's Church was the first location to be proposed for the Green Chapel depicted in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Its location in Staffordshire places it near the linguistic epicenter of the Northwest Midlands, which is located along the border running between Staffordshire and Cheshire. Although other locations have since been proposed for the site of the Green Chapel, his research has prompted a closer look at the topography of the surrounding area and its potential correspondances in the poem, and is still accepted as the probable site in many circles.
