Mary Shelley. The mother of Goth. Also known for creating dystopian science fiction, "The Last Man" (1826), she is the original writer for creating Frankenstein (1818) when she was only nineteen years old. The novel offers rich themes in all sorts of depictions that add to the horror genre such as birth, death, and rebirth, dangerous pursuit of knowledge, monstrosity, and alientation.  This type of story gave a fulfilling amount of symbolism that is prominent to the "lore" of Mary Shelley's biography, including the image shown. This film Mary Shelley (2017) gave audiences all of the important biography details that is relevant to her writing career.
