The second article, also published May 13, was titled ""The National Association of Advancement of Colored People." The article describes efforts from the NAACP to address problems faced by the African American communities, but directly refers to the John Carter lynching in the second column, when it lists "(g) The Arkansas cases" as an example of one of the reasons the NAACP is justified in continuing to be an organization that can help its individual communities.
