Publication of Laws of Thought

George Boole’s second book on symbolic logic (1854) expands and refines the ideas set forth in his first. In this book, he illustrates the power of his logical system through a discussion of probability theory and gives examples of social, religious, and political debates in which his algebraic logic would prove useful.
