Transatlantic Slave Trade Ship at the Port of Bristol, England

Type: Gallery Image | Not Vetted

This image depics the conditions of the enslaved Africans that were being transported to Bristol, England. This image is a mark in history for what would later spark the abolitionist movement, and encourage the Abolition of the Slave Trade Act of 1807, ending the slave trade in England. This image only shows to an extent why it was only right for enslaved Africans to earn human rights, as they were treated as less than and chained like animals during transportaion.
