John Medcraft (1895-1951) of Ilford in greater metropolitan London collected Victorian popular fiction, known to him as "penny bloods" or "dreadfuls." In 1945, he privately published A Bibliography of the Penny Bloods of Edward Lloyd.  As he has no living descendants and no discernible next-of-kin, his publications are now orphan works.
