Lambeth
Lambeth is a district in the modern borough of Lambeth, in South (London, England). It was originally the site of Lambeth Palace and Lambeth Marsh, which was drained in the 18th century. It was urbanised in the 18th century and had been the site of entertainment venues outside of inner city regulations. It grew in the industrial revolution and industry included delftware (since the 17th century) and later the Royal Doulton Pottery company.

London Considered as a Great World. (The Great World of London): "Then has not the so-called World of London its vast continents, like the veritable world of which it forms a part? What else are the enormous trans-Thamesian territories of Southwark and Lambeth?"
A VIsit to the Cholera Districts of Bermondsey (Morning Chronicle): "Out of the 12,800 deaths which, within the last three months, have arisen from cholera, 6,500 have occurred on the southern shores of the Thames; and to this awful number no localities have contributed so largely as Lambeth, Southwark and Bermondsey, each, at the height of the disease, adding its hundred victims a week to the fearful catalogue of mortality."
A Visit to the Rookery of St. Giles and its Neighbourhood. (Volume 4): "Here we saw another young man, a burglar, pass by. He had an engaging appearance, and was very tasteful in his dress, very unlike the rough burglars we met at Whitechapel, the Borough, and Lambeth."
