Mary Shelly was born in London, England on August 30th, 1797. She was a writer, translator, educator, advocator, and much more. Mary Wollstonecraft her mother wrote a reflection, “A Vindication of the rights of men,” in 1790 as a response to Edmund Burke. This is one of her most popular works. She is relatable to my topic in the aspect of her being an important woman who stands up for other woman and their rights also because they both fit into the category of being from the romantic period.  “Frankenstein,” is written by Mary Shelly, she started to draft the book at the age of 19 in Switzerland. The reason for the creation was how she had gone through personal traumas that gave her ideas for the novel. The novel is a great candidate for my theme due to how popular the book is and knowing that she wrote the book at 19 years old is more inspiring.
