| 20 Jun 1743 to 20 Jun 1743 | Anna Letitia BarbauldAnna Letitia Barbauld was born on June 20, 1743, in Kibworth Harcourt Leicestershire, England. Anna was a British writer who had and has many popular and some of the best writings. She wrote about many things that were happening in the 18th century. One of my favorite things that she wrote from the Romantic period is "The Mouses Petition," it is a poem about a farmer feeling bad for killing the mouse after he ran over its home while the farmer was working. In 1774 she married Rochemont Barbauld. I can relate her to another author I have mentioned Marry Shelly because Anna did a response to one of her famous works. Image of Anna Letitia Barbauld |

| 27 Apr 1759 to 27 Apr 1759 | Mary ShellyMary Shelly was born in London, England on August 30th, 1797. She was a writer, translator, educator, advocator, and much more. Mary Wollstonecraft her mother wrote a reflection, “A Vindication of the rights of men,” in 1790 as a response to Edmund Burke. This is one of her most popular works. She is relatable to my topic in the aspect of her being an important woman who stands up for other woman and their rights also because they both fit into the category of being from the romantic period. “Frankenstein,” is written by Mary Shelly, she started to draft the book at the age of 19 in Switzerland. The reason for the creation was how she had gone through personal traumas that gave her ideas for the novel. The novel is a great candidate for my theme due to how popular the book is and knowing that she wrote the book at 19 years old is more inspiring.

| 5 Dec 1830 to 5 Dec 1830 | Christina RossettiChristina Rossetti, the author of “Goblin Market,” was born in London on December 5th, 1830. She followed the footsteps of the father Gabriele who was a poet and Dante Rossetti, her father who was also a painter and author. She had easy access to printing her works because her grandfather owned a printing press. Her best work was the “Goblin Market,” I have included it into my theme because the poem shows the love sisters have towards each other also because she is a great option from the Victorian period.

| 1870 to 1870 | Ada Nield ChewAda Neild Chew is an English writer who was born in the year 1870 in North Staffordshire, she grew up with a large family. Her career began in the 1880's. Ada Nield Chew’s “A Living Wage for Factory Girls at Crewe,” was published on May 5th, 1894. Her reason for the letter was to advocate for the woman and girls working in factories. She is the voice for others by exposing the bad wages and demanding more recognition for the hard-working girls. In class I found her interesting, that is why I chose her to be an option from the Victorian period. This is a image of Ada Nield Chew |

| 15 May 1886 to 15 May 1886 | Mary BordenMary Borden was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 15th, 1886. She wrote "The song of the Mud," she wrote in 1917. She was a nurse during World War I, which is also where she got most of her inspiration from. She gives her point of view and her experiences like death and her role during this period. Mary had a significant impact on both world wars because she was the director for the French field hospitals. I loved learning about Mary and found her poem remarkably interesting that is why I chose her as a woman from the 20th to the 21st century.

| 18 Nov 1939 to 18 Nov 1939 | Margaret AtwoodMargaret Atwood was born on November 18th, 1939, in Ottawa Ontario Canada. She wrote “Miss July Grows Older," this poem reflects her life, and it is a summary of her years where she was a young woman and the differences to the present where she is older. I found her important in that she speaks her mind openly and honestly. I picked Margaret to be a woman I picked from the 20th to the 21st century.
