Banagher is significant to Jane Eyre because it's connected to the author of the novel, Charlotte Bronte's, personal life. Her husband Arthur Bell Nicholls was raised there, so this became a very important place in Charlotte Bronte's life and their marriage. Charlotte's relationship with Arthur is reflected in many of the themes shown in Jane Eyre such as; mutual respect, personal growth, and searching for happiness despite distance and obstacles.
