Joan Miro is one of the most influential and famous Catalan artists. He also uses surrealism in his artwork. Catalan influenced many artists in Barcelona. Catalan artwork pushes boundaries and explores different ideas and aspects of art. The artists use their paintings, drawings, and sculptures in unique ways for the public to see. Each piece of artwork is full of color and various shapes. There is value in an essential set on each piece for their creativity and uniqueness. A painting is full of multiple colors that complement each other; the various brush strokes show different artwork elements. The multiple strokes and colors create layers upon layers in the artwork. Each artwork can be left for the viewer to interpret what is going on in the painting. In Joan Miro's “The Gold of Azure,” there is an apparent exaggeration. The Catalan are a foundation for Barcelona's art; people take this idea and add their artistic eye to it.
I was able to explore the museum that was full of Catalan inspired artwork. It was amazing to see the similarity in the artwork that was created because it was all inspired by the same art idea.
Every single piece of artwork emphasizes at least one color to catch your eye and dominate the painting. One thing that I noticed after looking at various paintings, drawings, and sculptures have characteristics of people or a face. In the paintings and drawings, you can notice a face in many of them, but they look very unique and are not always noticeable right away. They show a different aspect of the beauty of the human face.
