J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was published in 2005 on July 16th. It is the second to last book in the Harry Potter series. This book seemingly offers a closing to most of the plot that was displayed to the readers in the beginning. When I mean a closing, I mean that it is seemingly showing their progression in age and the maturity that they have acquired over the years. Harry Potter takes responsibility for a lot more rather than when he was a child. He is still filled with curiousity and often leaves us in suspense with his thoughts and actions. There are so many more characters that have been introduced to us; however, all of them seem to tie into the story quite well. In this novel we are met with a new threat at Hogwarts and also in the Muggle world. The school is no longer deemed a safe haven for the wizard students since it is plagued with Death Eaters. Harry and his friends know that there must be new dangers lingering around the school that others are not aware of. In this novel it is evident that Harry and Voldemort are going to be face to face at one point and that Dumbledore is stuck on preparing Harry for the battle. There are so many dangers throughout this novel, especially as the teens are growing. Hogwarts may never be the same with the tragedy that looms over it, and Harry is stuck on making everything right (“Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince | Harry Potter Wiki | Fandom.”). This novel is filled with such suspense and it leaves the reader with such a cliffhanger that only the last book can solve. Its popularity is due to the entire series being so popular throughout the world, it is clearly evident on why it is so famous! The children that have read this book and growing with the characters and feel as if they can relate to them in some way!
