J.K. Rowling.
J.K. Rowling, better known as Joanne Rowling, was born on July 31, 1965, in Yate, England. There is a lot to be said about this specific author and how she contributed to British Literature. Some may know her for her successful novels revolving around the character, Harry Potter, but they tend to neglect her background and upbringing. She was once like the average person with a mind constantly wondering onto scenarios that piqued her interest, and one day she stumbled upon the idea of a boy who unlike the average human was a wizard. Rowling is now said to be one of the most bestselling authors in England and throughout the world. Therefore, this exploration of her life is absolutely necessary to get a better understanding of her life prior to being one of the most successful authors of our time, while at the same time displaying why she should be included in this course's curriculum. This gallery will display Rowlin's most important works along with the dates of publication, why each text is considered to be famous, and a brief description of each. I am very excited to cover J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. It begins when Harry Potter is first brought to Hogwarts School of Witchery and Wizardry at the age of eleven. The readers are captivated by the child who is seemingly an orphan to extremely powerful wizards. There is mystery surrounding their deaths but all we know from the beginning is that it has to do with the mark on Harry's forehand since he too was threatened by the being that killed his parents, but he was spared. The series follows him throughout his years at Hogwarts and each book seemingly lines up with his age, the first beginning when he was eleven, in the second one he was twelve, etc. It's popularity is due to the mysterious surrounding the characters, along with the concepts of death. I also suggest that since the characters start out young, that the readers may be young as well. What I mean by that is since the readers are young, they grow with the characters as the series progresses! All in all, I am very excited to give you my interpretation on the books after reading them along with what I got from the movies as well! I hope that you are able to grasp why each novel is so important to the series and how they coincide from the plot from the prior books. I cannot wait to display to Dr. Elliot why they should be included in the course's ciriculum because truly they are very intriguing!
