This is the Commonplace Book of Laura. Editorial commentary by Bryan Walker.
Laura,
23 years ago, you went through the most traumatizing moment a woman could go to. As a young girl, you viewed yourself through the eyes of others. After that fateful day, your life changed for good. You no longer find the courage to say what you want to out loud.
Lizzie has now passed, and it was time to clean out the old house before returning home to your husband and children. These items are ones you found around your former home, as you pack away the things that were once detrimental to your past.
You made yourself this scrapbook for yourself as an attempt to keep the memories of her and your past with you. Soon your mind will start to leave with your youth, and I am writing this to you in hopes that you never forget.
Love,
Yourself
