London's Jewish East End was where most of the Jewish immigrants chose to settle, causing a massive influx into areas such as Whitechapel and Spitalfields which were featured in the Jack the Ripper Murders. Consequently because of this at the beginning of the investigation police thought that the murders were being committed by a Jew.
