Thorp green hall is significant to Jane Eyre because the story influenced the writer. Anne Bronte worked at Thorp Green Hall 1840-1845 as a governess and she brought he brother along Branwell. While they were there the brother had an affair with their employer Lydia and Anne had to resign. The castle burned down in 1995, while this isn't the same as Jane Eyre I can see how the writer spun off the story. As in Jane Eyre it was Jane that had an affair with Mr. Rochester. I found this information from Anne Bronte website, a literary history website. this source is an example of singular authorship because one writer researched and presented the information for readers to learn from. Mapping Thorp green hall helps future students because showing where the story originated on a map connects fictional to real life like how Jane Eyre was a spin off of the Anne Bronte story.
