Tulsa is significant to The Outsiders because it is where the author (S.E. Hinton) grew up, so he saw the real divide in social class.  The author's real life connection to this place and real experience with the subject matter made the content far more engaging and is part of the reason so many people felt connected to this book and the writing.  I found this information from The Outsiders fandom wiki which is an example of low barrier to entry because anyone with a computer and internet is capable of logging on and posting to this wiki.  Anyone could have made this platform, but what is important is that people built off of each other to create a space for Outsiders fans to post information.  Mapping this location on COVE lets future students build on what I found because other people can join COVE and see what I posted.  These people can then add their own pin with information about this location and story!
