Before we map Frankenstein, let's practice on something easier: your favorite adaptation. Pick one you already know well, a movie based on a book, a modern retelling, a fan video, even a video game, and pick its most important location: the one place the story couldn't happen without. Important caveat: your location cannot be a place that doesn't exist on the globe (e.g., Middle Earth, Hogwarts, Wakanda, Narnia, etc.).
Plot your mappable location on COVE and write a short entry using the same four-part formula (see handout) that we'll use for Frankenstein: what the place is, where you found your info, which participatory culture concept your source shows, and what mapping it reveals. This is just practice, so you get comfortable with the tool and the formula on something you already like. Then when we move to Frankenstein next class, the process will already feel familiar. Don't forget to cite your sources (websites and images).
