Broughton Castle is significant to Jane Eyre because it is the design for Lowood as well as home to some of the interior shots inside of Thornfield. I found this information from a website called LocationHub, which is a forum type website where people can talk about certain locations and share information about the places. This source is an example of participatory culture because anyone can post a location and share information about it, also anyone has the freedom to comment on other peoples posts and share their opinions. Mapping this location on cove makes visible a place a gatekeeper might try and bury. This is important because a lot of other websites might just brush off the historical significance of the building itself and only refer to it as it's portrayed in the movie.
