Leadenhall Market, dating from the 14th century, is a market in the City of London. The current covered market was designed in 1881.

Of the Street Sellers of Live Birds. (Volume 2): "They are principally the produce of Cambridgeshire, with some from Bedfordshire, and are sent direct (killed) to Leadenhall-market, where about 215,000 are sold yearly, being nearly two-thirds of the gross London consumption."
