Niagara

In Chapter 13, Vincent Hemmingway finally comes to see Mary in London after she was been waiting. They were in a ways at a loss of words, so Mary asked him about his travels. He began talking about Niagara and says, ""Niagara," said Hemming, with a certain solemnity, "Niagara is something like London. The great falls, you know, are not beautiful; neither is London. But they are, like London, a unique, a terrifying spectacle. The roar, the immensity, the sense of a great power for ever driving forward; all these things are identical.

St. John's Wood

Chapter 7, "She wore the same expression as of old, in the summerhouse in St. John's Wood, when she sat alone notching and slicing at her wooden fleet." St. John's Wood is a residential area London. It is home to Lord’s Cricket Ground and the infamous cross walk pictured on The Beatles Abbey Road album. 

White Chapel Hospital

Dr.Strange is a doctor at the hospital and he is well aquainted with Alison. Mary however is interested in doing an article on hospitals and would like a personal tour of the hospital by Dr.Strange. She is intrigued on going even though others tell her that it isnt the place for a lady like her to be.

Cologne Cathedral (Cologne, Germany)

Cologne Cathedral is located in Cologne, Germany and is a Roman Catholic Cathedral Church. This Cathedral was started to be built in 1248 and finished in 1880. "It is the largest Gothic Church in northern Europe and features immense twin towers that stand 515 feet tall" (https://www.britannica.com/topic/Cologne-Cathedral). This place is mentioned in chapter 14 of The Story of a Modern Woman when Mary describes an old man who was painting the inside of the Catheral for 40 years.
