Argentine Pampas

The Pampas, meaning “plain” in Quechua, are grasslands covering approximately 750,000 km2 of South America. The region includes portions of Argentina, all of Uruguay, and part of southern Brazil.

Maipu River

The Maipu River (also Maipo River) begins in the Andes mountains and empties into the Pacific Ocean. It is located near present-day Santiago, Chile and is the region’s major source for irrigation and potable water.

Dod Street, London

Dod Street is in Limehouse, East London. William Morris and his comrades joined a “free speech” campaign to stop harassment from the police of the Socialist Democratic Federation paper sellers in Dodd Street. Morris was arrested here by the police.

Mont Blanc

Translated as “White Mountain,” Mont Blanc is the tallest mountain in the Alps, at 15,777 ft. (4808.7 m.). Jacque Balmat and Michel Paccard first summited Mont Blanc in 1786.
