The Suez Canal is a sea-level waterway in Egypt that connects the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea through Isthmus of Suez. The canal was constructed from 1859 to 1869 and was officially opened on 17 November 1869.
Burlington House was built in 1664 as a private mansion for Sir John Denham. In 1668, he sold it to Richard Boyle, the first Earl of Burlington, who gave the building its present name.
