Commercial Road is a street in the modern borough of Tower Hamlets, in the East End of (London, England). It connects the City of London with the district at Canary Wharf. The road was constructed in 1802-06 to connect the dock traffic at the West India Docks and the East India Docks to the City.

Clerkenwell Green is a square in Clerkenwell. It was built in 1782 and extended in the Victorian period. There is no actual grass on the Green. In Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, Clerkenwell Green is the site of the scene in Oliver Twist where Fagin and the Artful Dodger have Oliver pickpocket shoppers in the market.

Clerkenwell is an area in central (London, England), in the modern borough of Islington. Clerkenwell is named after the Clerks' Well in Farringdon Lane, and in the Elizabethan era was a site of general debauchery and a notorious brothel quarter due to its location outside of the City of London walls. During the Industrial Revolution, Clerkenwell became a centre for breweries, distilleries, printing and manufacturing. Clerkenwell has also been associated with radicalism, including the Chartists movement of the 19th century.
