This painting is significant to Notre Dame representing the people. Fouquet depicts the religious people of Paris trusting God to get rid of the Demons that are clouding over the city. In the background you can see the clear depiction of Notre Dame. Although there are other chapels depicted, the Notre Dame seems to be highlighted in its spot and stands so tall above the other buildings depicted.Since Notre Dame is so highly highlighted in the painting, it is almost as if the Notre Dame is representing the people standing tall and firm in their Faith.

This painting by Jacques Louis David, depicts Napoleon at his Coronation. This ceremony was significant for the rebuilding of Notre Dame. After the war, the cathedral had been practically demolished, Victor Hugo’s novel as well as Napoleon's Coronation called for the famous monument to be rebuilt.

This painting shows the crowds gathered around Louis IX departing for “lit de justice,” his final crusade before his death. The monarch was looked upon highly, celebrated, respected. His royalty is exemplified through the details in Martin’s artwork and the fact that Louis IX was the first King to be canonized after death. Martin paints the building to emphasize it’s royal nature and the prestige of Paris.
