En route to New Orleans, Louisiana, the substitute Greek Slave made a brief, two-week stop in Louisville, Kentucky, at the direction of Kellogg.

The statue spent only a brief period in Philadelphia, split between the Assembly Rooms and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Within weeks, it was confiscated by the agent of James Robb, who had laid claim to the statue following a disagreement with Powers over payment and ownership of the precise model of the Greek Slave now traveling around the Northeastern United States.
