Slavery in the Poetry of Elizabeth Barrett Browning

This COVE edition explores five poems written by Elizabeth Barrett Browning over the course of her career, each focused on the issue of slavery. In doing so, it contextualizes these works both within their respective historical moments and our own contemporary perspectives, exposing ongoing tensions and power relations inherent in issues of race, gender, and class.
