Throughout the years, language and identity have been repressed and censored, insofar as to threaten the well-being and human rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. When looking back on history, we will explore instances where people were oppressed, dehumanized, and murdered for no other reason other than being who they are and existing. This timeline will showcase key events leading up to the passing of Florida's House Bill 1557, which resulted in the "Don't Say Gay" protests.
