Ella Hepworth Dixon was born on March 27, 1857 in Essex Villa, London. She was the 7th of 8 children. Her father was also an author and hosted many parties, whos guests inspired many of her novels characters.  

This is the location of Mary Earle's childhood home, the place where she grew up, the location of many elaborate parties, and the place where her beloved father took his last breath.
