Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens is a botanical garden in the Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Southwest London, founded in 1840 from the seventeenth-century exotic garden at Kew Park and the royal estates of Richmond and Kew.

Wellington

Wellington, or Te Whanganui-a-Tara, is the capital city of New Zealand, situated at the southwestern tip of the country’s North Island. European settlement in the area was begun by the colonial New Zealand Company in 1839.

Le Havre

Le Havre is a port city located on the English Channel in the Normandy region of northwestern France. The city was founded in 1517 to replace the use of the harbors of Harfleur and Honfleur, which had begun to silt up.

Newgate

Newgate was one of the historic gates in the London Wall around the City of London, giving access to the City from the west of the country. The gate was used as a prison from the twelfth century onwards. The gate was demolished in 1767.

Sydney

Sydney is the capital of the state of New South Wales in southeastern Australia. It was founded as a penal colony and named for the contemporary British Home Secretary, Viscount Sydney.

Dublin

Dublin is the capital city of Ireland. It is located on the country’s east coast, at the mouth of the river Liffey and north of the Wicklow Mountains. It is home to the thirteenth-century Dublin Castle, now a government complex.

Normandy

Normandy is a region of northwestern France, linked to the historical region of the Duchy of Normandy. It comprises the port cities of Honfleur and Le Havre and the cathedral city of Rouen.
