Devonshire, England (Barton Cottage)
Devonshire, present-day Devon, is the village where the Dashwood’s move to after the passing of Mr. Dashwood. The four Dashwood women leave their luxurious home in Sussex, England to live in the less-fancy, Barton Cottage, in Southwest England. The village is described by Jane Austen in Sense and Sensibility as, “chiefly on one of these hills and formed a pleasant view from the cottage windows. The prospect in front was more extensive; it commanded the whole of the valley and reached into the country beyond.
Background of Clapham Sect and Hannah More's "Slavery"
The Clapham Sect was a group of evangelical Christians from 1790-1830. They strived to end slavery and encouraged missionary work near and far. They were conservatives who believed in class, and keeping class as it is. The Clapham Sect played a huge part in the abolition of slavery and slave trade in England. They supported Hannah Moore, who was a member of the Society for Effecting the Abolition of the Slave Trade.

Blog Reflection on Sorrows of Yamba
For my reflection on this presentation, I would say I'm happy to chose this project to start with my teammates. The reason why I was hooked to do this is that I was curious to learn about slavery taken place in the U.K. Most of history of what I know about slavery is from American History or ancient times from Egypt, Greece, Rome or other civilization. So I took the chance to place my name on the group list.
