Imprisoned for his Sexuality

In 1895 Oscar Wilde was imprisoned for being in an intimate relationship with Sir Alfred Douglas when he was 45 years old. Douglas' father was the one to go after him for sodomy which he was convited for on May 25th 1895 and sent to Pentionville Prison. While he was in prison doing hard labour he contracted meningitis which led to his death.
