William Blake was born at 28 Broad Street in Soho, London on November 28th, 1757. This is an illustration of his childhood home where he lived until he was 25. The home was demolished in 1965 and the street name is now Broadwick Street.
Glenriddell was the home of Robert Riddell, a close friend of Robert Burns. He became a frequent house guest here and on the grounds of the home, Burns Hermitage is a place that Robert Burns often stayed. In 1873, it was remodled and named "Friars Carse". In 1938, Friars Carse was estabilished as a hotel.
