Milan
Emily, Count Montoni, and Madame Montoni travel through Milan on their journey towards Venice. At this time, the countryside was war-stricken, the fields trampled by soldiers and groves of trees torn down to light fires. However, Milan is now known for its art, fashion, and design, and Radcliffe mentions briefly the famous cathedral of Milan, which was at this point in the story in the process of being built.
The Zong Massacre: A Map
After throwing over the half the slaves overboard, the Zong arrived at Black River, Jamaica on December 22, 1781. Where their were once over 400 slaves aboard the ship, they arrived in port with only about 200. The remaing slaves aboard were sold once they arrived in Jamaica. This is an important place to mark because it is the first location of the Zong after the massacre. It currently has a Zong monument in remembrance of the massacure.
St. George’s Church, Hanover Square, London
St. George's Church is often occupied by Gertrude. This is ironic to me and was also pointed out by Conny, considering the fact that Gertrude has no intentions of marrying. It is in Hanover Square, London and was built for Catholics. It is located in between Margaret St and George Street.
