This map is a collection of locations of poets from the anthology "Reinventing the Enemy's Language," edited by Joy Harjo and Gloria Bird. The anthology consists of 87 Indigenous American women authors, publishing both poetry and prose. This map specifically locates the tribe of each author. There are 26 poets marked on this map ranging from as west as the islands of Alaska to the northern most point of the United States. The plotting of poets shows how Indigeneous American women share similar experiences from across the North American continent because of the same oppressor: European colonization.
