Brighton (Pride and Prejudice location 4)
Wickham seduces the younger Bennet daughter, Lydia, and runs away with her away from Brighton as- where it is mentioned multiple times in the novel beforehand that the military encampment near Hertfordshire is, and where Lydia had spent time visiting.
London (Pride and Prejudice location 3)
The Bingleys return to London for some time after acquiring Netherfield Park, as a result of Darcy working behind the scenes to keep Mr.Bingley and Jane apart. London is much more metropolitan than Hertfordshire, and is seen as a higher status place to have a residency. Jane eventually follows and stays with family.
Derbyshire (Pride and Prejudice location 2)
Mr. Darcy's fictional (but expansive) Pemberley estate is set in the real-life Derbyshire county. Lizzy inadvertently visits him at his home with her aunt and uncle midway through the novel while trying to sightsee in the area.
Herfordshire (Pride and Prejudice location one)
In Austen's Pride and Prejudice, the Bennets live in the real live, then-rural, county of Hertfordshire on their imaginary estate of Longbourn. Mr.Bingley's equally fictional Netherfield Park is also here.
"Upon my word I say no more here than I might say in any house in the neighbourhood, except Netherfield. He is not at all liked in Hertfordshire. Every body is disgusted with his pride. You will not find him more favourably spoken of by any one.”
Buchenwald- Night by Elie Wiesel (Billie Carter)
Setting 4: After traveling to several different camps, Buchenwald becomes the last one. Eliezer's father falls ill here and is not given food or treatment. There he is placed in the invalid bunk where he is beaten by the other invalids when Eliezer is not around. By this point in the story, both Eliezer and his father are weak but Eliezer is still well enough to work. Ultimately, Eliezer's father is beaten by an SS officer right beneath Eliezer's bunk. After about 2 months, the camp is liberated by an underground resistance movement by the U.S.
Gleiwitz- Night by Elie Wiesel (Billie Carter)
Setting 3: Another labor camp in which Eliezer and his father stay for about 3 days, with no food or water before they are forced onto another brutal transportation trip to another camp.
Auschwitz/Birkenau- Night by Elie Wiesel (Billie Carter)
Setting 2: After traveling on cattle cars, Eliezer's family arrive in Auschwitz where they become aware of labor camps. After being taken to the Birkenau part of Auschwitz, Eliezer's family is separated. His mother and sisters are taken away, leaving Eliezer and his father in Birkenau. Here, Eliezer and his father have to lie about their ages to pass Dr. Mengele's inspection. They are then thrown into the horrors of the camp where they are exposed to the crematoriums and the burnings of young children and individuals that weren't deemed fit for work.
Sighet, Hungary (Transylvania)- Night by Elie Wiesel (Billie Carter)
First setting: This is where the story begins in the year of 1943. The characters become aware of the government's dislike of the Jewish population, however they are in disbelief despite hearing the experiences of someone who had escaped forced labor. The main character Eliezer lived in Sighet in one of the Jewish parts of town, owned a shop, and were involved in the religious scene. As time went on, the Germans sent soldiers into Sighet.
