St. Columb Minor is a small village on the coast near Porth, which was the site for ship building during the 1800s. St. Columb Minor is also known for its gothic style churches from the 15th century. This is most likely where Frank is from in the novel, since it is located in Cornwall and closer to the coast than St. Columb Major.
York Place was an area in London designed with the intent of providing modern infrastructure to the growing population and came to consist of both high- and middle-class people. In The Romance of a Shop, York Place is the location of Frank Jermyn and Mr. Oakley's engraving studio.
The Grand Canal at Venice is a location mentioned in The Romance of a Shop. In the book, this location is the subject of one of Sidney Darrell's paintings. It is a waterway in Venice, Italy that provides transportation to the city.

St. Columb Major is a town in Cornwall. St. Columb Major is larger and farther from the coast than St. Columb Minor, which is more of a coastal village. Both of the St. Columbs are named after a woman saint. St. Columb Major was said to have been built near a healing spring, and during the 1857s, a historic building known as the Bank House was built in the town.
