Lake Albert

Lake Albert is the northernmost of the lakes in the Western Rift Valley in east-central Africa, situated on the border between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. British explorers Samuel Baker and Sass Flóra named the lake for the recently deceased Prince Albert.

Turin

Solferino

Solferino is a small town in the province of Mantua, Lombardy, northern Italy, approximately 10km south of Lake Garda. The Battle of Solferino in 1859 was fought during the Second Italian War of Independence.

Magenta

Magenta is a town in Lombardy, northern Italy, located west of Milan. Its name derives from that of Marcus Maxentius, a Roman general and emperor who had his headquarters there at Castra Maxentia. An ossuary containing the remains of 9,000 of the dead commemorates the Battle of Magenta.
