Chicago, Illinois is significant to the TV show adaptation to the comic Invincible because it is a significant location in the story of Mark Grayson (Invincible). One of the most significant moments in Invincible was when Invincible and his father Omni-Man battle after Mark refuses to join the Viltrumite Empire when his Omni-Man asks him to help conquer Earth and then fuels the fire by saying human life does not matter. Invincible is hurled into Chicago during their clash and Omni-Man goes through destroying Chicago on a widespread level and causes thousands of casualties.
